Food was good. Great portions, especially fries. The milkshake is up there with the best, and I will not disagree with their title claims! The store was packed, for a weeknight that surprised us! The place is loud and our server was soft spoken. Even my co-eaters said she was quiet and it wasn't my ears! So I would give this five stars but let me explain my 4 star rating- 3 stars for good food and dessert, 1 star for nostalgia. (I grew up in the Simsbury and East Granby former locations) and 0 stars for service. The servers here are not in a hurry. We spent 90 minutes for dinner and dessert. Lots of waiting, no checks for how food was served and refills. Fortunately it is the same AC Petersen's as I remembered!

We love AC Petersens! It is a local staple and I grew up on it. The ice cream is why you come! We love that they now add a free small ice cream with an entree. Their hot fudge is so good! It's a nostalgic place. The customer service is hit or miss, but we've never had an awful interaction, just slow at times. We love coming for breakfast, it's an inexpensive meal and allows you to take your time to enjoy your company.

I haven't been in a while and I'd say nothing too much had changed. The entry from the parking area is not to be used anymore. It says to "use other door." The menu is on a piece of paper now. I might prefer a QR code nowadays. The staff are friendly and I got our order in pretty fast. The basket of "spicy" fries is only curly fries with seasoning. It tastes good, nothing out of the ordinary or too special about it. The one scoop of ice cream is very generous and size of a small cup. I had a chocolate peanut butter milk shake too. It's not as good as I remembered although who says no to chocolate peanut butter. I had to take a quart of that home! It was one of the better reasons I came here today. I was a little confused how to get my server's attention. They were pretty busy doing other things. Otherwise it was a nice, quick visit with my boys. It wasn't all too busy so the noise level was low. A comforting spot to have a quick snack.
